For those looking for simple, affordable ways to add extra space at home, the Studio Shed has quickly become a popular choice. Whether it’s for work, hobbies, storage or just a place to relax, this outdoor space has plenty of uses.
The Studio Shed is a versatile steel kit, available in two styles to suit your backyard. You can choose from a 9.8m² kit with a Skillion roof design or a 20m² kit with a Gable roof design. Beyond a standard garden shed, it’s designed to become whatever space you need, including:
A backyard office for working from home
A gym or hobby space
A kids’ retreat
A games room
Or even a quiet spot to unwind
We supply the steel frame kit and cladding, and you finish the inside your way. Choose your own doors, windows, flooring, and linings to match your style and budget. Check out more Studio Shed measurements and pricing info here.

With more people working from home, having a dedicated backyard office shed makes life easier. Step out of the house, focus without distractions, and still be close to family.
But it’s not only about work. Families can use a Studio Shed as a space that changes with them. It can start as a kids’ playroom, then become a teenager’s hangout, and later even a guest room when needed.
Every Studio Shed kit from Sheds n Homes is made with Australian BlueScope Steel and your choice of COLORBOND® steel colours. Your kit includes:
COLORBOND® roof and wall sheeting
BlueScope Steel portal frame
Vermin proofing
Bracketry, bolts and screws
Full engineering certification and construction plans
You’ll get the same trusted strength and durability as our larger sheds, just in a backyard-friendly size.

Council approval requirements depend on the size and roof style of the kit, as well as where you live.
The 9.8m² Skillion design has been created with Queensland and New South Wales self-assessable building guidelines in mind, and in many cases, approval may not be needed.
The 20m² Gable design has been created to align with New South Wales self-assessable building guidelines, and approval may not always be required there. In Queensland, this larger option is more likely to need approval.
Rules vary depending on where you live, so it’s always best to check with your local council before you start.
Creating more space at home doesn’t need to be complicated. A backyard shed gives you the freedom to shape it your way, whether that’s a quiet place to focus, a spot to create, or simply somewhere to relax.
